How Boombox Became Our home

Welcome to Boombox Fitness! I am Kelly Smith, Owner of Boombox Fitness with my husband, Damon. Boombox Fitness was founded in our garage in 2018. It was the culmination of more than 20 years of experience and training on my part. That is how long I have wanted to own and operate my own facility. My own fitness journey lead me to Crossfit and Olympic Weightlifting in 2014 after our second child was born and I fell in love with the drive it gave me to challenge myself physically and mentally. Damon soon followed! After operating our garage gym for only about 6 months, it became clear that we needed more space quickly. Our close-knit community has banded together in support of our dreams to bring our love, knowledge, and experience to as many people as possible and thus Boombox Fitness was born! Day in and day out we are thankful to be able to coach such amazing people to help them reach their own goals!

We are committed to coaching each and every person in attendance for class whether beginner or advance athlete. Everyone in our gym is an athlete and everyone has room to grow.

A focus on technique and safety

We will focus first and foremost on technique and form because that is how we keep you healthy! Injury most often occurs from poor movement habits and lack of sufficient recovery.

We will always seek to provide new experiences so we are always listening for your suggestions and comments. There is always room for improvement.

Personalized attention to your growth

We will be your biggest cheerleaders! We will continue to help you reach your goals no matter how big or small. We will stay connected with you in the gym but also on our Wodify platform so it's important to log your workouts to chart your progress and stay an active part of the community.

We are committed to HAVING FUN! We love our jobs here and we want to make sure that you see that in us each and every day!

Recommendations For you

  1. Show up! That is the biggest and hardest battle most days but you'll be glad you did!
  2. Put your best foot forward. On any given day, that might mean something different but you came so we want to make sure you get the most out of your workout!
  3. Don't compare yourself negatively to anyone else. You may find that there are some people that you work out with that have similar abilities that you can pace by, but don't use someone else's success as a reason to put yourself down.
  4. Take coaching cues. If a coach is directing you to change something you're doing, it's for a good reason.
  5. HAVE FUN! It's not worth it if you're not having fun!
